The members at UNACC thought about different ways to bring the community together for Eid celebration and do collect donations for the needy children and orphans as well. So our first ever Charitable Eid Family BBQ was planned and executed.
Great weekend weather guaranteed a successful and fun-filled celebration of Eid-al-Fitr, held by Ummah Nabiwah Afghan Children's Charity. The event took place on Sunday afternoon, from 11 am to 6 pm at Sunnybrook Park.
With over 100 community members of Toronto, the day was carried out with activities including separate games of volleyball for brothers and sisters as well as several group activities for the little ones.
Not to mention a delicious picnic, which included a selection of rice, our famous BBQ chicken, burgers, hot dogs, fruits and tea alongside chips and juices for the kids.
Most importantly, we were able to raise approximately $1200 of proceeds and donations to Children orphanage in Afghanistan.
This year showed a very successful event, by the grace of Allah. We hope to see you at our next event insha'Allah!
